For all I know he could have got swallowed by a whale while on
vacation. He's been on the missing person's list so long soon he'll be
on the FBI missing person list. I'm waiting and so is everyone and now
everyone is back at school and they can't learn nothing without a free
newsgroup server.

Your web server's been hacked. I get some kind of scary security warning
now if I visit it, instead of the correct page.
If you can read this, the news server itself is probably unaffected.

Wrong. The certificate expired yesterday which explains the security
warning.

How would one "contact the owner"?
One of the rumours floating around was that we would need a medium to do
that anyway, no idea whether that is true or not. I can't even check
the rumours any more because the alternative provider I now use lost its
database at the start of July (2024).
I hope Paolo is still around, even though he has obviously given up on
this service.

I knew his name sounded like Pablo Picasso. With all the increase in
crime as the entire world goes down the toilet bowl from zero interest
rate policy and quantitative easing which destroyed the whole world I
hope he didn't get kidnapped or worse. Without a free newsserver the
next generation will be daft and clueless.
